Thwaites Glacier is approximately the size of Florida and is located in West Antarctica. It is estimated that ice melting from Thwaites accounts for 4 percent of global sea level rise. Scientists have recently discovered an enormous cavity beneath the glacier, 10km long and 4km wide. It once contained 14 billion tons of ice, which has all disappeared in the last three years - further evidence of rapid ice thinning. More info here
